I've left my Vega alone for a couple years. The engine block is World Products, as are the heads and intake manifold. 11-1 Compression with 243* intake X 248*exhaust, 108* lca HR cam with conical valves springs. Nasty little sucker with great punch. I'm pretty comfortable with carbs having been playing with them for close to 60 years. The drawback to this one is I need to drill a hole in the primary butterflies as the transision slots are completely uncovered and it runs rich at idle as a result. I've been to lazy to pull it and fix it and it is a tad rich @ idle. It pulls hard however.
I got a wild hair last month and started pushing buttons on ebay, summit, and others. I've wanted to try EFI for a while. My experience with them has been just trouble shooting oem systems with stock engines, and mechanical FI back in the 60s and 70s. Anyhoo, got myself wound up over the fitech systems. Having an STR-10 intake manifold on the shelf for years, I desided to go out on a limb knowing full well that Xs two is four times the trouble.
Right now I'm cutting out the spare tire well and redoing the floor so I can install a '69 Camaro tank by "Tanks" set up for an internal fuel pump. The pump is by fitech and has a built in pressure regulator so I can run a dead head system.
