Question...,I'm currently running NHRA Street class with a Vega GT with stock unibody/frame ties,420 hp LT1 with a B&M th350 and 3.37 gears. It has BF Goodrich 295/50/15 T/As on it and does nothing but spin in all 3 gears and skate on the top end.how wide of a DOT Slick would you dare run without tearing anything up,and of the DOT slicks which tire would give the best hookup based on your experiences? (Hoosier QuicktimeDOT Pro-Hoosier Quicktime DOT-MT ET Street/Street radial Pro,M&H Racemaster Radial Drag tires, etc
Any help in picking new sneakers would be appreciated!

I've been 10.0's @134 on hoosier quick time pros on stock suspension. I run 27x11.5's with mini tubs. Just find the biggest tire you can fit without rubbing and i'm sure you'll hook alot better.

About the largest tire I could fit comfortably was a 235/60-15 BFG Drag Radial, but had no trouble hooking with either the 383 or the current 355.

The stock frame with frame connectors handles it alright? I can run up to a 295/50/15 (295/50/15 BF Goodrich radial T/As on it now) but don't want to tear the car up if I run a slick that big. Thanks

my car has no frame rails with a ls1, 350rwhp/2004r trans 4k stall, I ran 7.37 in the 1/8th with a 3.08 gear,235/60/15 BFG drag radials,, hooked up even with the front sway bar connected..
I do have double adj, rear shocks which helped,, you should be fine with any drag radial/slick,, but you better get some frame rails,, better yet,, put a 6 point bar in it for safety,,
