No Dick, left messages for Liberty and called them a few times but our cable based internet is still not hooked up. ( Cable is laying on the street corner still) We as still debating on what to do for home internet. My wife's laptop and my tablet use the home based wifi to access the internet. Still using the one smart phone to use the internet.

Doug I hope that gets better soon! That has to be a living Hell with the "upset" and uncertainty of it all. Keep us in the loop as best you can and our Prayers will be with all of the good people suffering through that. Harry

Pretty much back to normal for us Harry, other than home phone lines / home internet. Power went out up north today cause someone cut a tree and it knocked down a 50000 volt line . They are saying about no power for 16 hours for them. The main powerplant up north is shut down because it is too old and unsafe. So they are using our plant down south here to power up there and that line went out today.

Another nitwit knocked out another line today , another 24-36 hours without power for the whole island. . :bang: :cuss:  Had to start up the generator again ( drained some gas out of the Sunbird instead of waiting in long gas lines) which means another service on it to mothball it again,..... :bang:

I pray this problem gets fixed quickly, you would think someone's actions couldn't shut everything down after all the work done. Hang in there Doug.

Well Dick, it's set up so the whole island is shut down to protect the system. ( Fragile)

They blamed the Americans for last week's and this week's for the screwups. ( Cobra from Oklahoma) They were removing a Maria destroyed tower with an excavator and it hit a large line. I think they are sending them packing because they caused both accidents/ power outages. :bang: Power did com on sometime last night /early am.

Telemundo went to investigate the matter, They were moving a crane and asked to turn off the power because if something metal comes in within 5 feet of a live 50000 volt line an arc can jump like static electricity and short out a line. Nobody turned off the power at the plant as they were moving the crane. ( Not they're fault) Were asked to pack up and leave the island anyway.

Wow, hard to believe you're still having issues there after all this time. Agree with previous poster, time to move back to a 'real' State. But then again, your on a tropical island in the Caribbean, so, stay. :P Good Luck Doug!!!

Over a year later and we got an email the other day. They told us that the damage was too great down south here on the island and there will be no cable Internet, home phone or cable based TV for 2 years from now.

We have this phone for internet and Directv, but no wifi. When this phone's contract is up, we will upgrade to a hotspot wifi phone.( Around February)

No phone line means that they can't read the electric meters either, so they read them by vehicle now, finally just got a bill for 5 months , luckly we have been paying ahead online and they have been crediting our account so we did have something to pay when the bill did come.
