Hello I am looking for a pair of door hinge pins for my 1980 Monza Coupe. Dorman makes bushings, but pins are unavailble. Misplaced my pins. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Brian Driscoll

I do not have any more hinge pins and for the most part they have dried up in NOS land. There is a possibility I can find one or 2 but the prices may be quite a bit higher than I was able to sell them that before. My email is cjbiagi@yahoo.com

Anyone remember the part number? It was a few years back, but a GM dealership up north had three sets in stock, I could check?

Thank you one and all for the replies to my door pin search. My local GM dealership still has the pin and bushing part numbers in their computer system. but no parts. According to them the pins are GM part #9655646 and the bushings available from Dorman are GM part #9822198. ( Dorman #38391 ). Thanks again ! Brian

Hello Everyone! Thanks again for your response and for checking around for me . Monzaddict added a website in Montana called Oldsmobile Obsolete. Called them and they have NOS pins and bushings in stock. Owners Katherine and Gary were very helpful and accomodating. Thanks again for all the help. My next post is going to ask all you guys about engine recommendations. 151 Iron Duke made it to109,000 miles. Removed from the car. Car is an automatic. Maybe something better than rebuilding the Iron Duke ? V6 or ?

I am getting a few NOS door pins. If anyone else needs any let me know.........

Hello Clyde, Saw your post about NOS hinge pins for my 1980 Chevy Monza. I believe the part number is 9655646.I should have kept my mouth shut. After mentioning "Oldsmobile Obsolete" on this website and the fact that they had the pins and bushing I needed, someone from Indiana called them and took all of their pins and some bushings. So by the time I called them the next morning, the pins were sold out. What a coincidence....... So I am back to square one on the pins. My phone number is 563-212-8060. Anyone got NOS pins and bushings for a 1971 Chevrolet Vega doors?

Also...any repair solutions for the door check rollers? Mine are worn/broken:

Ouch......obviously the result of no lubrcation for many years. Bushings are not a problem, I have them if needed (as well as pins). As far as the roller, that was part of the hinge and not spared separately. Problem is the hinges are welded to the chassis and door. If you can find a used hinge you may be able to figure out a way to replace the roller.

I would just drill/grind the pin heads off and commence a beatin'! Take your time and watch where the drill/grinder is going, you don't want to damage the hinge. After it is out take some measurements [or find a machinist friend to help, your going to need him/her for stage two for sure]. Now find/make a new pin I would think a Gr. 8 Bolt would do nicely adjust the head to fit the space [I remember that going inside the other hinge] maybe remove the extra stock and tack weld it in. If you have any mould shops around, a cut off piece of "ejector sleeve" would be an excellent choice [and free if you are lucky]. I f luck isn't running your way right then just make the piece with the help of said machinist friend [of course you may already have said skills that would be a big win!] Some adjusting of the plan will likely be in order as you open up the "patient"!
