Factory Assembly Manual

Postby mikebrow74 » Wed Jun 27, 2018 3:57 pm

Has anyone looked into why a Factory Assembly Manual is not available for our H-Bodies? They have them for Corvairs back to 1962. Surely there is a market and need for these manuals.

There are basic assembly manuals, just find the Fisher Body manual for your year. The Fisher 76 covers my 76 coupe pretty good, but for my 75 towne coupe had to buy the supplement for it as the Fisher 75 only covers the vega and 2+2.

While the Fisher Body Manuals are a help, they are not like the Factory Assembly Manuals available for Corvettes, Chevelles, Camaro, Corvairs and Novas. Hell, they even have them for 55-57 Full Size cars. I sent an email the Chevrolet Division of GM asking what it might take to get one published. Let’s see if they answer.

That would be awesome if they ever did. I've got in the habit of taking pictures of everything as I take it apart and parts all go into zip lock baggies as to where they go, then use brady wire markers to number all connections or i can't remember how to get it back together. Evidently I suffer from CRS disease.

The CVOA has assembly manuals available for '75 and '76 Vegas. You have to be a member to purchase, though.
