Seat Belt Retractor Repair

Postby Howler73 » Fri Aug 03, 2018 5:44 pm

I have a 75 Monza hatchback that has an issue with the drivers seat belt retractor. This is the one that bolts to the ceiling of the car. I took it down and the spring is broken or at least the little tang that allows it to be tensioned. Has anyone used any of the restorers found on Google? I've found Ssnake-Oyl Products in Texas, Sharon's Web, Inc also in Texas and Python Restoration which I think is in Texas too ( I think I'm sensing a pattern here....).

I put a Camaro retractor in mine. It did need an adaptor plate though

Try Seatbeltplanet dot com. I had good results with them.

I used Snake-Oyl for restoration of my 1969 Corvette belts 20 years ago. Good quality work and they have been around a while. Not cheap though.
