76 sunbird rear lower control arm mount

Postby 71vegadan » Tue Sep 25, 2018 10:41 am

The passenger side rear lower control arm frame mounting on my car is weak. Has anybody repaired these? How? Can the frame mountings be relocated using adjustable (longer) control arms? This is a street car, no drag racing or autocrossing.

Thanks,
Dan

I assume they are weak from rust? If so, I would look close and see how far the rust extends. Best bet would be to cut back to solid metal and fab new mounts and weld them in.

I have a similar problem on the lower control arm mounts on my 74 panel express. Any recommendations for the best way to fabricate these mounts? Pictures?
