I just scored a 70 big block I would like your thoughts on. casting number is 3963512 that I looked up to be a 69 427 or 70 454. it is stamped CE0 which would be an over the counter or warranty replacement 1970 454. the crank number 353039 crosses as a 1970 nodular iron 454 casting.
I was hoping for a forged 427 crank. I have never heard of a nodular iron crank- always cast or forged steel. i know nodular rear castings are stronger than others, so where does this thing stack up? application will be 90% street, about a 600 hp toy with a stick that would see some rpm's.
Thanks
