Where is Marco?

Postby HI WINDING MONZA » Tue Feb 19, 2019 1:39 pm

Hasn't posted in a while, just wondering. His YouTube channel hasn't had any new posts in 1 year either. Did he move to Florida?

He is still on some of the Facebook groups. The H body community has got very fragmented in my opinion with all the groups. It's hard to know where to go or remember where you posted or saw something. The H body org has got very quiet....... :(

Yes, pretty normal other than some traffic lights not working and some houses still have blue tarps on them.

They need like 10,000 people for construction jobs here at $15 an hour for 7 years.

Not jumping on it as I only have 17 months left to retirement, I 'll stay where I'm at. :bored:

I scratch my head that the internet is going back to when people thought AOL was the internet. I guess the net is going to be nothing but facebook and the dark web.
I dumped fb about 4 information sellouts back.

Yeah, it seems most conversations are on Facebook now, spread across about 10 different groups. I prefer one main source but that's the way it is now.

I never liked Facebook from the get go. Yes, I agree this community has fragmented due to Facebook, etc. but the car collector culture in general is on a down cycle. Let's be clear, it is well known that car forums in general are a wealth of information simply based on the concept it is more focused and always will be than FB. Rooted in commercialism it's beyond me why people think FB is all that and a bag of chips. This site has a warmth to it that Facebook simply can't touch. Of course I'm an nostalgic old guy and what do I know?

Oh, Facebook did come in handy for my High School reunion.

I sent Marco a link to this thread on FB.

FB is great for the automotive world, so much there. It does fragment the H community tho.

The worst part is that a lot of people there feel the need to share their political views, some daily. There are tools tho to control how much you see of that. The FB ads are quite heavy now, every sixth post on my feed is a sponsored post. < wish they had this emoticon on FB

Now see if this were facebook, I could quickly add in a "wheres waldo gif" for that uber comedy effect. Can't do that here. Seriously though, I haven't been uber active here, However, I did just recently add to my work-in-progress thread, the 1978 production schedule thread I created in the Factory original purists section. I do add to that when I can. I also uploaded to my Youtube channel a simple picture / music video with my red car just last week. It's not showing up on the main pag which is annoying. I'll have to look into that. As far as FB goes, yes I'm pretty active on there...it's the rapid fire quick access info. Plenty of downsides, but lot's of deals on things get exposed there, and instant exposure to pic's, and questions. It has it's lure. Lastly, nope haven't moved to Florida yet. as always I'm on the verge, but it's hard to move all the cars and parts, and work keeps me broke enough to have to stay put.

So for now. Stuck here in the snow. I enjoy the attention. Hope all is well. Going to go and check on my cars before the big wind event starts up tomorrow evening.

Facebook is fine, the thing I have against it is there are too many groups. Anyone can start another H body club and invite people, so the natural thing to do do is..........Join anther club! It's also hard to find posts or threads that were discussed because I can't remember what group it was on, so I have to start searching every one. It's frustration to me, but I try and follow what I can. Glad I am retired to have all the time it takes to follow everything.........
