Here is a fantasy pic to help get us in the mood, as we prepare to ready our vehicles for that first spring evening drive.

Great shot, I'm ready but without a heater I think I'll wait a little longer.

Love the rims! Dream is the only way I'll drive my Monza anytime soon, lol. Supposed to almost be spring, but after another foot of snow yesterday, now poor car is under a good 40" of snow. Just a roof mound showing right now.

I would love to see a picture of the Monza mound of snow.

Well, not exactly a mound by the time I got home last night, wacky weather got to 49 degrees and melted most of the snow we got the night before, now I have a small lake in my front yard, lol. These two sat in the sun all day, so just a little snow left on top.

In the shade, here is one of my K20's, 10" lift and 37"s for reference.

One of these days, I will get around to building my shop so they don't have to sit out under a tarp most of the time...unfortunately, wife says no shop till house done.

Thanks for the pics. I can see it will be a while before your Monza comes out of hibernation. It has been one crazy winter. Hopefully, the worst is behind us.

Ya, Jeremy, I hear ya about them sitting outside, I had the same problem, no shop space, so mine sat outside for 10 years. I fixed the problem 5 years ago by convincing my wife that we should move and bought a place with a 1500 sf shop with an engineered truss roof (no inside support posts), wired with 220vac, fully finished and insulated. That however has not got me any closer to getting my car running, they just sit indoors now in hibernation waiting for the day that I will get time to work on them. that day should be soon, just finishing up the paint work on the square body and then I should be able to start on the Monza. You look like a hard core Chevy guy, I see a square body and an older 67-72 pick up there too and a newer GM pick up as well.

It surprises me you get that much snow there, I would have thought it to be more arid and colder with less snow. Is that much snow the norm or is this a particularly snowy year? I know that's the case where I live, we usually get a few inches a couple times during the winter and then it warms up and melts, this year we have got some significant dumps and I still have snow piles in the yard, in fact it snowed 3 times in March which is almost unheard of out here, we are usually back into the rainy season by then.

A pic of my Monza's peacefully waiting for me.....

I grew up here, this is more like winter that I remember. Last few years have been hit and miss on snow level, still didn't get much until December, then it just kept snowing and melting till end of January, then got real cold. Don't know about you, but it drives me nuts having projects sitting. Right now, trying to build my house, should be finished with the initial part this year, then doing another 1,000 sq ft addition next year, so have no time to work on anything else. Current projects I have are 76 CJ5, new drivetrain, need to do the tub; both 75 towne coupes, main one need to finish the interior now I have all my parts and motor swap, replacing 350 with 406 and 4 speed, second one not sure what I'll do with it, needs the roof skin; 71 GMC 1/2 ton long bed, finish the top end on motor, tore it down for a cam/head swap and never got back to it; 86 K20 (blue one in pic), replace the crank, broke it off last year between the front bearing and the timing gear; 82 K20(one of my plow trucks), install motor I built for it; 91 Blazer S-10, 2 door, rwd, finish interior resto and v8 swap it; 82 GMC C15 long bed, replace flex plate, just a work truck with a straight 6; 91 GMC 1500 4x4 (grey one), computer; 94 Olds Bravada, robbing the frame and part of the drive train, have to shorten frame and lower to fit the 91, making my own v-8 version of a Typhoon; 76 Monza coupe, stripping down and doing full tube frame big tire car; and last and least, 94 Geo Metro, finish motor build, 3cyl extreme MPG version.

WOW!, Now that's a list. You sound like my friend, he has 15 40' Shipping containers full of project cars, trucks and parts. So many that it would keep him busy full time for more than his entire life. I always wanted a 70's CJ, I think they are so cool, just like the styling and size, my friend had one in high school, that thing was awesome, we used to have a riot 4x4'ing in that thing. It had a winch on it and you could go just about any where with it. Your TC that needs a roof skin, is that due to rust holes? Just curious as my parts car developed a bunch of rust holes in the roof, just seemed like a very odd area to rust, I get it when its a car that has the vinyl roof and water gets between there and rots it out but this appears to be coming from the inside out. And yes, it bugs me too walk past my projects when they are sitting idle. I should have my square body finished in the next two months and then I can apply for collector status for it. Then I have the Monza and two motorcycles waiting and that's it. Ironically my wife has tried to get me to buy a few more fixer uppers and I said NO!, I just want to finish the ones I have been hanging onto for the last 30-40 years.

Lol, my wife put the foot down on any new projects till I get rid of a few, so this summer I have the okay to work on the ones I am cleaning out...71 Dodge D800 dump truck, the 82 GMC, the 86 K20, 94 GMC tahoe, 73 F250 high boy, 93 Geo Metro, 71 GMC, possibly the roof rot 75 TC, and 94 Nissan 4x4. After the end of the summer, will have all my backhoe work done, so selling my backhoe and hunting down a 64 Chevy II SS or a 68 firebird. What is your square your putting together?

Ya, High Boy's I haven't seen a factory "High Boy" in a while. Ford had that going on well before the monster truck craze and everyone lifting up 4x4's. My brother bought an 81 K20 Silverado (factory ordered it) and put a 6' suspension lift, 4 1/2 body lift, 37" tires on it and after breaking all the K20 running gear using it for real in the bush he swapped it all over to K30 running gear except for the frame which he ended up twisting it all up. That poor truck was heavily abused. Even with all the tires and lift he has a picture of it pushing a wave of mud in front of it that was half way up the grill, that mud hole cost him a motor.

Sorry, missed the part about the square. Its a 79 C20 Long Box Fleetside Camper Special 350/TH400/Corporate 14 Bolt Open. Here's a couple pic's. the box is off it now and on a rolling dolly to move it around easily. It's in final paint prep and should be starting to paint it the week after next if I get the spray booth finished next week. I had to enlarge it to paint the box. Booth was originally 8'x10' and will now be 10'x12'.

Nice! I had my 86 dualed out in front of the tires like that, but ended up putting both straight out the back finally so I could hear the radio. Running a mild 425hp 383 through 1 5/8" full length 3" collectors, x pipe, flowmaster 40's and 2 1/2" pipe, at speed could not talk on the phone very well, lol.
