The pins are basically just pounded out. They do have a little spring clip in the middle but there is no easy pay to get to it. So, just tap them out with a hammer and punch or whatever you can get in there with.

It seems pretty straight forward but the top pin comes to a point and is a tough angle to get to it . Maybe I’ll try grinding it a little flat so the punch don’t keep slipping off . The bottom hinge has no play at all .

If they are stock pins they usually have a couple of small "tabs" on the lower side that were staked onto the pins after installation to prevent them from coming loose.

Just FYI I would also replace the pins also, the few times I have done that job on GM cars, H-body or not, the pins get damaged as the come out. I have never been able to reuse them.

I was surprised at how hard those little pins stuck in there the last time I removed mine.
I found a long 3/8 in. socket extension worked Ok to pound the one at the top out - use one you don't care about, it will get beat up, even after soaking the pin in penetrating oil. Destroyed the bushings too.
I don't remember how I got the bottom one out...

i use this CTA Door Hinge Pin Removal kit.

I've had the doors off and back on my Monza about five times now. It's still a pain in the ass every time but this tool does make it quicker and easier.

Are those Monza pins inserted with the head facing down...ie..driven in from the bottom like the Vega? If so, are you going to drive them in the same way or from the top?

I been putting off removing my driver door to fix some rust. Trying to figure out rigging something to support the door while banging out the pins so I don't have to fix another problem..

I think they insert the pins based on how much clearance they have to insert the pins the one on top looks like it might hit the fender when trying to push it in, I have not really looked at it that closely though.

Thanks for the tips . At this point I thing I will knock out both pins and remove the door completely and that will give me incentive to door the rust repair in the bottom as well . After 100s if misaligned door slams by the previous owner the door striker needs work too . Maw do it all at once

Here's a thread I remembered from a bit ago, that may have useful information:

I forgot, the pins are getting hard to find. Maybe beat on them a bit less...

When I tackled my pins, this is what I did for door support. https://www.harborfreight.com/steel-flo ... 60762.html

Put it on my low aluminum floor jack, then took off the existing rubber pads and made my own out of 1" thick rubber that I scrounged somewhere and cut a grove through the top of each about 1/4" deep for the door lip to sit in. Took a little to get it adjusted to center the door weight and it works easier with two people, one to balance the door and the other to get the pins out. I heated the metal tabs that the pin goes through, then stuck a long/narrow type candle against it and the wax will melt and get pulled into between the metal to make it easier to beat the pin out. I've since got a pin removal tool I got for my blazer, not sure if something like that would work on these pins or not since sort of an odd angle with limited space there. I think somewhere I made up a special offset punch to make it easier beating it out too by just bending an old rod from something in the vice and giving it a gusset at bend for support. If you have a tranny jack, that will work too, just not as easy as the beam.
Some people are like slinkies. They serve absolutely no useful purpose, but still put a smile on your face when pushed down a flight of stairs.

I was thinking something with tranny jack..then thought maybe strap the door to engine hoist..Nice idea with that floor jack..

When replacing the bushings you will need to press them into place. They are brittle and if you hammer on them, even a little, they will break. Use a bolt, nut, and a couple washers to press them in.

Here is a picture I found of the pin itself.
