It's a bittersweet day

Postby cosvega76 » Fri May 17, 2019 3:23 pm

Well, the Vega is headed to its new home in Iowa. I've enjoyed it for the last 30 1/2 years, and it's going with another Vega nut.

Farewell, my old friend!

Chuck, A long time with that outstanding Vega, any car plans for the future or is it time to rest a while?

I am sure you will enjoy the El Camino, but I’m still partial towards the Vega. That was the way cars should be built. You did it right my friend

Dick,

I'm picking up a Hugger Orange '65 El Camino on Monday. I'll post photo after I get it home.

Thanks, Clyde! I started out with an extraordinary car, and built it to be driven. The El Camino looks to be an extraordinary car (truck?), so let's see what I can do with it.

Congrats on the El Camino Chuck, just saw your car on the Cosworth Vega site, I must admit I would have had a hard time letting that go at any price..

At least parts are plentyfull with the Camino!

Chuck, even though El Camino's aren't mentioned much here, drop in occasionally, you have always had great input and suggestions. Keep us up to date on your latest work.

Thanks, Al, it was a difficult decision, but it was time. And it went to a good home. As far as the El Camino, I really do like the fact that I can open up a catalog or website and order parts! And, from what I've seen at car shows, there may be a bunch of Chevelles but only a couple of El Caminos at the most (unless it's something like Super Chevy or the like).

Dick,

I'm not going away yet - I have a bunch of Vega parts to inventory and sell! I may be in touch with Paul to see what he may be interested in.

Dang, I have pictures somewhere of your car at a car show in Chicago somewhere in the 1986 - 1988 timeframe. Early Spring if I remember right. It was beautiful.
