Brake upgrade and exhaust question

Postby Rat Vega » Mon Dec 30, 2019 1:33 pm

Hello...

Finally, I been offered a nice complete set of 1998 Blazer spindles with rotors and double pistons calipers...my car has a V8 Monza booster with El Camino master cylinder and an universal rear prop. valve.

Does the Blazers can be adapted to my 72 Vega?

Second question....I have installed a set of 1 3/4 tubes hooker headers but are close to "Rest in Pe...." .......I have a set of V8 Monza exhaust manifolds that have been polished / ported. Currently, my set up include twin 2 1/2 Flow Master under the mid of the car open exit (without extensions).. Until I get a set of new headers, I'm panning to use the manifolds, plumbing 2 1/2 all the way to the mufflers....Car will be for street / strip.

Does the ported manifolds will rob a lot of power?

Any help on both questions will be appreciated

Mr. Perez...

S10 Blazer dual piston calipers will work.
Monza manifolds have 2” outlets 2129’s have 3” and long tubes to scavenge the cylinders
Sanderson shorty headers are half the cost of 2129’s and have 2.5” outlets.

I have a set of the Sanderson Shorties for the 98 V6 4.3 that are new unused, wouldn't fit without adding a second knuckle to the steering shaft, so I used stock...If they fit your application, and you are interested, drop me a line....Peace

Happy New Year All !

Your 2.5" dual exhaust wont do much good behind stock Monza manifolds which are usually about 1.875" id at the outlets.

Have you posted any pictures of your car? I looked around and didn’t see any.
