I've seen the light......

Postby rpoz-29 » Sun May 31, 2020 10:59 am

I hope I'm still welcome here. I haven't posted too much in the last few years. I spent too much time on FB. I'll miss some of the groups I was in, but not the BS that came with it.

Thanks for the responses folks. I spent a LOT of time on FB debating Vega's with folks who knew absolutely nothing about them. When I realized I was wasting my time, I quit.

That’s exactly why I never joined. After my wife had me use her account to check things out, it occurred to me that it’s a platform for people with preconceived notions to spread their “knowledge” about everything they know nothing about.
Obviously there are good people on there with proper thinking, but somehow they manage to get drowned out by the ME faction of society.
It would be nice if a majority of the users would shut down their accounts, but I don’t think there is much of a chance of that happening. These days making a difference in the world consist of making an obvious comment or worse yet, reposting or liking one made by another.....all the while making oneself feel relevant.
Forums like these are for the real enthusiast. We’re here to share, not to be seen.

You're absolutely correct. There are maybe four subjects I know well enough to offer an opinion on. That's it. I got tired of being mocked, ridiculed, and insulted by someone who has never read a book.
