Hello yes.... If I'm not too late to the party...
I believe that's the body unit number.
Since the plant made more than one make but wanted to count all the bodies they made... There's a body unit number which is that general count up.
Then the vins are assigned which only count within the make of the vehicle.
But just to be sure they're supposedly a VIN number stamped on the driver side shock Tower. It should be on the rear side and you may have to lift the suspension so the top control arm raises up to expose the number. I've never seen it myself but many people say that's the hidden vin number area on the car.
Unfortunately cars from 75 to 77 that were built in Canada rarely come with a hidden build sheet.
If you happen to find one you'll be able to see the body unit number at the top.
