Alternative V8 Radiator

Postby fas141 » Tue Mar 08, 2022 3:44 pm

My 77 Monza factory V8 radiator is going to need to be either re-cored or fixed. Car is a 4-speed so no need for transmission lines or coolers. Not sure what it is going to cost to fix my OEM radiator but was wondering if anyone knows of any aftermarket drop in radiators that give a factory fit and look. Pics appreciated. Thanks.

Try Champion rads. Part # CC469. I swapped out the factory rad for my 3.8. The one they have listed is for a V8 swap. Its all aluminum. I'm very happy with it. Even on the hottest days stuck in traffic it runs nice and cool. It works with the four speed in my 80 Skyhawk. I just left the plastic plugs in place where the auto trans lines would go. Hope that helps!

Wow, great! That looks really nice. Thank you.

Does the PS bracket mod just move the pump over to the fender more? What was the issue? Was the radiator just too thick?
Thanks.

Moving the steering pump just a bit closer to the water pump makes room for the upper rad hose to shoot straight back
