V8 Monza front springs

Postby Monkey Wrench » Mon Mar 13, 2023 7:30 pm

Hey guys, I'm seeking information on using V8 Monza front springs in my V8 Vega project. Do I need to cut 1" or more off the springs to get a good ride height? I put the Vega spring beside the Monza spring, and the Monza spring is about 1" taller.

What year Vega do you have? I wouldn't recommend the Monza springs in the first gen, it'll be too stiff. And cutting coils only makes it stiffer. Depending on what ride height you're looking for, I'd recommend 4 cylinder Monza springs with the shallow-pocket control arms.

Hey Chuck, Thanks for the info. My vega is a 1975 notchback with deep lower A-arms.

With the deep pocket control arms and the big bumpers you may be okay with the Monza springs. But they are on the stiff side.
