Vega Kammback

Which years had the gas cap on the back side panel? Im looking at a 76 that has it. It is a GT. Brother thinks he drove a 73 or 74 Kammback and it had back side panel gas cap. Trying to figure out what he drove. I know some were in the very back. Thank you.

Think i have it narrowed down to 74 or 75. 71,72,73....gas cap was in back of car. 74 and 75 had a black rubber bumper pad. Then it seems to disappear in 76. The one picture I have of his...it has the black bumper and again the gas cap is on right rear panel.

I think his was automatic. Most of what I see for sale is manual. Im looking at a 76 GT that is manual. Think he will enjoy the hell out of driving a Vega even if year is not right and color is not right. But now starting to think it should be automatic because of his age.

Yes, you are correct - '71-'73 had the fuel filler behind the license plate, '74-'77 in the RH rear quarter panel. The bumper black rub strips were part of the deluxe appearance group.
