Classifieds section

Postby ColinOpseth » Wed Jun 28, 2006 8:17 pm

OK..
Looks like the Classifieds section is now up and running.

View it on the left by clicking on the Classifieds link. Oh, and my IROC wheels are not for sale. I'll remove that once there are a few ads put up.

Later,
Colin

I'll add that as a result I will be locking the ability to post new threads in the classifieds section. Only replies will be allowed....for now.
'72 Vega with '93 Camaro LT1/M29 T56/12 bolt 3.31. 16" IROCs all around. Sanderson headers into duals with an H-pipe and Flowmasters. It's loud but at least it's faster than your grandma's Buick. pwned.

Question; does that one section encompass for sale / wanted and trade?

seems like that might be confusing?

I like the way it looks and the different subcategories

1978 Sunbird Formula V6, 5 Speed, Hatchback
1980 Sunbird Hatchback 4cyl, 4spd.

Marco,
Yes it does.. I believe you can add a classified with a $0 price if you want since the field in the DB is varchar not integer-based.

If you want, I can make a trade category for stuff just for trade, and maybe a free category for stuff that people want to give away.. it's a thought.

ttyl,
Colin

Just curious...what is the reason for going away from separate categories?

Hate to agree with the cloner, :p but I kind of liked the old format, of seperate For Sale and Wanted ads and I guess for trade ads. At least with the previous setup you had, Colin, it was easier to read, line-by-line and you could get more per page listed, without having to go to page #2 (when we get there that is, lol). Maybe have both setups, or would that be too much? Just thinkin' out loud, but I'll go with the majority though.

The Classifieds is sortof abstract. You don't really need to enter a price, I don't think. If it would suit you all better we can ditch it, or we can setup the Classifieds to use 3 categories (for sale, trade, wanted). It doesn't really matter to me.

I think the setup with 3 catagories would be the cat's meow.

lmao..
Alright, I'll change it tonight and move all of the ads over. I'm just trying to keep the main page a fairly quick load time for those on dial-up.

Good thinking. I forget about the days of dial-up.

Maybe we need input from the dial-up guys?

What do you think? Is the Board getting so big it loads slow for you?

Hate to agree with the cloner

Oh, Geez. First my car is a clone, now I'm a cloner. :bang: I can't win!

I was watching the last installment of Star Wars the other day, so Cloners just came to me.

I haven't seen it. So is "cloner" a good thing or a bad thing?

Cloners, neutral, neither good nor bad, so it's all good in the real world!
