Wanting to get the HELL outta Cali...recommendations?

Postby ColinOpseth » Wed Jun 28, 2006 8:36 pm

Hey guys,
Well.. I hate California. This place has really gone into the crapper. I've been considering Oklahoma, Colorado and Wyoming. Anyone have any recommendations?

Colin

Pueblo West is growing. Sits at the foothills of the Sangre de Cristos. Beautiful views.

Just read an article in USA Today that says Fort Collins, CO (suburb of Denver) is the country's best place to retire to.

My brother spent 5 years in Denver, and loved it, which averages 330 days of sun a year, that's 30 days of rain, snow, sleet and hail ... ONLY 30 and the Rockies within arm's reach! Can you say retirement place for a Canuck?

Come live in the carribean on Curacao (Netherland Antilles) , my girlfriend's appartment is only $220 a month, basically housing is cheap, electricity and gas a bit more expensive, but then again food and clothing is cheap again.. we live on a happy island :P

sea, sun, women and beach :p
-Chevy Monza '76 2+2 V8 262ci (old) -> 355ci (oil problem) -> 355ci (piston broke) -> 350ci (current) ... LOL

DjTy,
Got the woman covered...thanks lmao

TurboMonzaTC,
You're a loan officer? What are house prices there like for a house in a suburb on say, 5-10 acres? I don't like to be crowded. The house I live in now is on 2.5 acres, is a manufactured home and was appraised in January at $245,000.

Ft Collins is now considered a Suburb of Denver? Its over 60 miles away. (I went to CSU)

Okay, maybe I stretched it a bit. Should have said 'Denverish' area.

Try Wisconsin we have to replace Brian Melca (BACCUS) since he took his vega to the right coast. We have a few monza nuts here.

You can always move to my homeland (Georgia) You can't beat the land prices where I grew up... You can still buy untouched forest acreage for $200-$500 an acre... The cost of living is cheap, and if you do all your work online, you can get DSL out there. (Washington County area)

Yep Im a loan officer. Depends on the suburb your speaking of. Texas is a big place. A suburb where I'm at with that kinda acreage your looking at a couple mil to be honest. Move about 45 min out and it'll be in ur price range. Just let me know. Pm me if your interested and i can direct you to a real estate agent that would take care of all your questions.
