Welp that sums it up. Still clearing branches off so I won't know the damage till later, but it was a 20 year old Mesquite. Pics to come after I go back to work. :censored:

Man...That sucks. Hope it isn't bad. Someone slashed all 4 of my Vega's tires last night. I think they tried to steal my car cover and slashed the tires after finding out the cover had a cable and lock. The roller rockers will have to wait now.

Ouch!

Moved little Buddy from his normal space last weekend to the drive way under the pine trees. Went to move him back today and there was a 5" diam 20' long branch where he normally sits. Looked up and that tree has several dead limbs from this summers drought. He now sits in the middle of the yard away from most of my trees!

I really need to clean out the garage and get him into it!

This is what I saw when I pulled up.

There is an Astre in somewhere.

Is that it??

Oh, there it is!!!

It was a 20 yr-old Mesquite tree. That was the largest limb on the tree. After we spent 30 minutes cutting the branches off, the one main branch was still huge at a few hundred pounds all by itself. I swear, this car is never gonna be on the road. I guess I was furious. My mom and my sister had to go back into the house I was so hysterical.

I'm gonna clean it, and analyze the damage later. I've got several truckloads of tree to cut apart now.

DUDE: IT LOOKS LIKE YOU WENT A LITTLE TO FAR WITH THE SHADE TREE THING. was it caused by the recent weather or just the tree type and age?

Well everything is taken care of for tonight. Luckily I've got very good neighbors. Within 20 minutes, I had 8 neighbors out, along with my family, and a good friend of my dad's out there with 3 chainsaws, clippers, and handsaws. We got my car uncovered in an hour and a half. While we were at it, we hacked off about 70% of the rest of the tree since it is getting old, and huge. It didn't help that the part that fell on my car was mostly dead, so all the branches that were on my car were hard, dead Mesquite branches. Luckily there were a bunch of them though for that matter, since if it were like a palm tree, or something without all the branches, I would've lost my roof. But right now, I'm hoping I can colorsand and buff the side of my car. My passengerside stripe is scratched to hell, and I'd like to get another one made (Help Tom!). As far as the roof... it blows. I'm hoping my painless dent guy can take the scrapes out, otherwise I'm gonna have to redo the whole roof. The paint was tough as nails, but that didn't stop the dents. Luckily my glass is intact.

I'm just glad I had good neighbors. They stuck around after I stayed for 1.5 hours for my lunch break and did a lot then. Here is a pic from right before I went back, right after we hacked the second major section off. They stuck around till I got back at 5, then they helped finish load half of it into the truck/trailer. The only downside... all this good bonding with the neighbors must have ticked my dirtbag redneck neighbor Jed Clampett off. I won't say much. All I'll say is that the cops were out twice tonight.

be thankful for good neighbors and that car cover probably saved the paint from many more scratches tho its too bad they wont protect you from the dents. better check on old Jed Clampet next door maybe he's part jamacian and maybe he has a VooDoo Doll with your cars name on it. check your mojo dude and hang in there. there is always a light at the end of the tunnel. just make sure it's not an oncomming train.
