If you want to lift a car, this looks to be the right way to do it. WAAAAY better than putting spacers between the coils.

damn, I'd be interested in this... are they also on summitracing?
-Chevy Monza '76 2+2 V8 262ci (old) -> 355ci (oil problem) -> 355ci (piston broke) -> 350ci (current) ... LOL
-Opel Kadett E 1985 1.2Litre (Back up, had a broken condensor :P still need to find replacement accelerator pump membrane...)

Or you could just buy the rubber kind that can be inserted between the coils, similar to what stock car racers call spring rubbers. Install them with the springs out of the car so you can wedge them to one end. If you can't get enough lift that way, install them like these stands on the top of the springs.

Sometimes I feel like the rear end of my car is too low. It doesn't have the aggressive stance that some of the other cars on here do. I didn't know if maybe this is how it was done. The guy has several different sizes on ebay, but I have never seen them on summit or jegs.

Knuckle Busters! Please tell me that's not your IMSA

This is what I'm referring to. And they happen to be almost the exact same diamter as the rear coils were on my old 74 GT. Use as stands on top, or wedge between the coils, depending on if you want to stiffen the spring or not. Mr gasket makes them, and summit sells them

'93-'02 may also work, but has not been confirmed.

Way back in the early '80's I seem to remember using rear coils out of a '60's A-body (chevelle, etc.) in my V-8 Vegas. They didn't sit too much higher but were a whole bunch stiffer.

In the early 80's I used to sell a bunch of TRW rear coils springs. They had a product line called Cargo Coil , they were heavy duty variable rate springs that would raise a car an inch or more.

They were very popluar with GM cars ....Chevelles , GTOs etc. (TRW listed them for just about every car with factory rear coil spring suspension)

I used them in my Vega when i had the stock 72 rear suspension and a 7.5 rear. I think the part number is CC617 But i cannot make out the receipt clearly it is from 1982 and is faded :roll:

They gave the car a nice rake and were fairly stiff. Perfect for a twentysomething kid with a V8 Vega :lol: (heck for that matter they are perfect for a fortysomething dad with a Mirage :lol: )

I think that would work fine. If you just want to raise the rear, use those spacers on top of the spring.

If you want to firm the ride up, then remove the springs so they're fully extended, slide (or hammer) the spacer between the coils. You'll probably get somewhere around a 20% increase in spring rate amd some lift too.

Those KYB are great shocks for the money. IMO, you've got to spend $70 a shock to get anything that works better. Both my truck and my caprice ride on KYBs.
