Anyone want any other mods?

Postby ColinOpseth » Fri Jun 30, 2006 6:18 pm

I think I've pretty much installed everything we need. Anyone else looking for something?

I need to get the tech pages done and a few other things, too. Maybe a featured car of the month or something?
Later,
Colin

As in....?
'72 Vega with '93 Camaro LT1/M29 T56/12 bolt 3.31. 16" IROCs all around. Sanderson headers into duals with an H-pipe and Flowmasters. It's loud but at least it's faster than your grandma's Buick. pwned.

Well, since you asked. How about a small link saying "You have one PM" when someone PMs us? Or did I miss it?

Thanks Roger

You should get an email when you are PM'd. Also, when you join the board should pop up a window saying you have a new Private Message.

At least, that's how it works on my end.
Later,

I'm sure we'll think of several more 'tweaks' as time goes by, Colin, but I must say you've done a fabulous job so far.

Quick responses to ideas, and things seem to be working very well!

Go over to Corvetteforum.com See how they have everything set up. Copy that. You are missing a number of things here that they have over there that make it the single largest car forum on the net.

123,000 members, wow, that's just slightly larger than ours. lol.
I wonder how many are like me though, I posted just a couple times to get a specific question answered, and have never been back.
Regardless, it is a hell of a setup, although a little busy and intimidating when first viewed but it is well laid out and organized once you take the time to surf a bit through it.
Something we can certainly strive for.

I'd rather not strive for 123,000 members....too much competition for parts! And waaayyy too many posts to read.

On the other hand, with that much clout, we could get repro parts made......hhmmmm.....

Color as in our old forum. It was more visually pleasing if limited in functionality. Don't get me wrong this site is great!

My Dodge Sweptline board has a nicely laid out home page. The Admin changes out the artwork on top with the season. Currently has a Patriotic truck shown. Halloween had a headless driver (ala the headless horseman). Just kind keeps things interesting.

How about a small photo of a member's car, that can be changed with every time you log on. New photo for every logon? I've seen this type of thing done on other sites. I assume the photos are from a main archive location.
:o

And is there a way to use colour and different fonts on the signature? :?:

How about a button that will take you to the "Last Unread Post" of a thread. It would make it easier to pick up where you left off.

How about a separate web site 'Suggestions, Comments, Issues' section?

Thanks,
Tom
