Need some help with front springs. Right now I believe I have the old Don Hardy front springs but are sagging, so there are spacers in between the coils. The car is a 73 8v Vega with stock A arms. There are some v8 monza springs on e-bay(5576) real stiff ones is that too stiff? Pennsalvania roads are not that great. Would like to drive on the street with out draging pan or headers.

It may sound odd, but I'm planning on the CS6490 springs used for deep pockets on my 73 with shallow pockets. They have a taller free height and actually a softer rate, but since they will start out compressed more in the shallow pocket, they should give a good ride while maintaining a good ride height. I think they were $60 from Advance Auto and available next day.

I also have the complete TRW/Moog spring reference chart in the suspension section. I scoured it, and did A LOT of calculations, and I still think this is the best soft front theory for a strip/street setup.

Not at all. The Monza spring has a higher lb/inch rate. By mathmatical theory, that spring will not allow the compressed 2" of suspension travel to work properly, making a much firmer ride. Of all the possible springs I ran calculations on in that chart, the 6490's always made the most sense (only applies to the shallow lower pocket setup).
