the 6490 are made for the deep pocket control arms. your 71 stock has shallow control arms . the 6490 will work if you shorten them, or find a set of deep pocket arms. for the rear you can use cc635 springs(about $60 from advance), they will lift the rear about 2".they are a progressive spring for a 89 camaro. i have them in my wagon with a 235/60/ 15 tire on a 15x7 wheel and they fit in the wheel well with no rubbing

Heinz: yes the 6490 is taller, but it's lower rate works in the shallow pocket a-arm setup, also allowing proper lower suspension travel.

As for the rear - I've already got the 5659s in and they raise the rear about 1.25" to 1.75" (forgot to measure the original setup).

In the profile photo the rear had not settled (weight is based on the body and glass only). Since I loaded the car up for storage, it sits PERFECT in the rear. Sorry, I haven't set up the front yet.
