What pitman arm and steering coupler?

Postby speedphreake » Mon Jun 25, 2007 2:59 pm

The 71 Vega I picked up didn't have a steering box. Picked a new "Vega" box at a swap meet but it doesn't fit. The splines on the box are too big to fit either the pitman arm or steering coupler. What do I need to make this work?

Is there a pitman arm and idler arm that will lower the steering to clear the oil pan better?

Last, is there supposed to be a bearing in the bottom or the steering column at the firewall?

This was a high school project car before I baught it so there is alot missing or half fast put together.

Dude. I'll just send you the whole setup. I just removed mine a couple months ago. I was wondering what to do with it. I'm converting to a rack.

There is no bearing at the bottom. I wish there was. I need it for the rack. I'm going to have to figure out a solution.

Let me know if you are interested in the parts.
