I haven't seen these in years ! Even in the 70's when they were available for our cars , they were not all that common!

They are adjustable via the rear mounting hole. I never had first hand experience with them....From what I recall of ad's and articles at that time ..... they were effective for curing wheel hop. It looks like the different positions place more or less load on the lower control arm. (I had Lakewood traction bars on 2 of my v8 Vegas and they worked well with regard to eliminating wheel hop.)

These appear to be a little similar to SouthSide Machine traction (lift) bars.

It is from the 70's , they same company made them for Chevelles , GTO's etc.

There may well be better technology available today . but for a period correct 70's - early 80's v8 Vega ...these would be sweet.

Sounds good, I have yet to experience any wheel hop so no need for them to come my way.

I have a serious wheel hop problem, but I don't know if they would help. That's an aweful ot of money for those though.

Rustorbust, I really would like to drive down there some day and check out your Vega. Would you mind a visitor some day?

Ron, Tom:

If you want to fix your wheelhop problem, you need to get rid of those rubber upper control arm bushings. Check out those adjustable upper arms on eBay from time-to-time. They use rod ends instead of rubber bushings. I made my own, and solved my problem.

On my lower arms, I have them boxed and use 3rd-Gen Camaro Z28 bushings.

Chuck,

I have already installed a pair, maybe they're just not adjusted correctly. I still have a lot fine tuning on this car.

Ron,

Check your pinion angle to the driveshaft. A general rule of thumb is 1-2* down for an automatic, 5-7* down for a stick. If nothing else, change the instant center by raising the rear of the upper arms. I made some parts out of some 2x2 square tubing and some tubing I had left over from making my control arms.

OK this is from a rearend builder if you put more than 4 to 4.5 degrees down pinion angle your gonna trash ujoints and can break stock housings.
A friend made some ladder bars and used 6 degrees and ate ujoints like candy and as for the pinion bearings well I have pics of the upper part of the housing where the pinion gear is coming through the top.
Coil xprung cars should run good in the 2 to 3 range ,if you need more your setup or traction devices (ie tires are slick).
I never ever set cars to go past 4.5 on street, now stip only run what you want it can only break.
Good luck
