youd be better off running a set of trans am or z28 third gen springs, they will raise up the rear some and not let the tires bottom out on the wheel lips, 26x9 is a pretty big tire for a stock wheel well.

I run a 26x10.5 ET Street and I BARELY rubbed before with stock springs and rolled lips. My car looked squatty though. So I was able to get some 3rd gen T/A springs free off the local forums of thirdgen.org. Put those in, and I gained about 1" so IMO, my car sits exactly how I think it looks best. And I do have stock shocks with no issues.

3rd gen is 82-92.

I bought new Monza springs at Checker. They were like $45 at the time. Don't remember the details, but I'm positive it was for a V8. Raised my front like 2". I like the look. Before it was too low, it looked broken.
