Welcome to the world of H-bodies. Part of the initiation is rebuilding a front end on one of these and dealing with the lower cam bolts. You are not a "real" member until you accomplish this (except for all those west coast and desert guys!!) Removing them can be a real challenge. My bolts were actually "bonded" to the inner sleeve within the bushing. I tried saoking them for about a week with penetrating oil with no success. Even with air powered impact wrenches and everything I could think of all I finally ended up doing was twisting the bushing in the rubber. I ended up cutting them out. I got the nut off fine, but there was no way the bolt was ever going to slide out of the bushing sleeve. I cut along each side of the bushing between the bushing and frame and finally got them out. I should mention that two of them came out fairly easy, the other two I had to cut. The cam bolts can be very hard to find, but I may be able to help locate some for you. If you have a torch you can also cut them out that way. Otherwise a Sawzall or just hack saw blades in a hand holder will work, but it will take time.

don't try to cut the bolts. try spliting open the bushings and removing the rubber to get to the sleeve then split the sleeve the the bolts should come out .

Mine came out with a simple breaker bar and socket. :P
'72 Vega with '93 Camaro LT1/M29 T56/12 bolt 3.31. 16" IROCs all around. Sanderson headers into duals with an H-pipe and Flowmasters. It's loud but at least it's faster than your grandma's Buick. pwned.

Nah. My '71 nova was the same way. I pulled and disassembled the front sub frame without having to torch or cut a single nut or bolt. I suspect my Vega will be the same when I start modding it. Needless to say, up here in the rust belt I've had to pay a bit of a premium for such clean cars. But they are a joy to work on.
