Didn't cos 'too' much but it did require recoating the wheels.

i have had a set of 4x100 rims re drilled and had inserts fitted to them .cost under $150
look for an older rwd car that has 4 on 100 or whatever just get the correct offset

Nic,
These are on one of my "works in progress". The wheels are 15X8, 3 1/2 inch back space, tires are 245/50-15. I tried to take a picture of the inner fender clearance but you couldn't tell anything from them. I have almost an inch clearance. The springs are stock V8 stock height. I hope the attachments work, it's my first crack at them!

Thanks for the pics. Those look pretty good. I may need to go with a smaller wheel after all.

I take it back... 245 looks pretty damn good... Hmmm. It seems 8" is more viable. The 8.5" on the early Vega puts the edge of the rim right at the edge of the wheel well. I'd post pix but I don't have the suspension in yet.

THat looks really good, Dick. THanks.

Colin, Thanks for asking about the rack setup. I'm fixated on fitting the BMW radiator right now... I'm hoping to begin fabricating the crossmember for the rack right after my engine is sleeved. I'm hoping that will be in two weeks.

It's going to be a cold project! Winters coming. LOL!

Has anyone ever done an independent rear on an H-body?

I know that the 240z rear is pretty narrow but I think it's still too wide. You can use a C4 IRS but the problem is that you end up with control arms that are so short, suspension travel is limited.

I have a C4 IRS that I'll probably put into my '72 Cheyenne Super shrotbed.

What would it take to fabricate one for an H? What are the major hurdles that would be involved? I beleive I have an understanding but I would like to make sure.

I actually had a Jag suspension laying around my garage for years thinking of doing the same thing. I ended up selling it for $1635. COOL!

The easiest way would be to do like Colin is suggesting: Cut it out of another car that already has one in place. Another option is build one yourself by getting parts and fabricating the axleshafts and control arms.

Here's a company that builds custom units...

The C4 IRS isn't too hard to narrow. You have to narrow the controls arms and the the driveshafts. The center batwing section just bolts in place.

I was at a U-Pull-It a few months ago and there was a Jag with IRS. I wanted it so bad but I got thinking about how would it be for traction in an H-body. At the time I wasn't going to be building a daily driver. I only had one Monza and was planning on building a wicked street machine. Now I have enough to build another Monza for a daily driver. Wish I woulda got the rear.

I am interested in those upper adjustable control arms. Are they made for use with S10 spindles and ball joints?
Direct bolt in?

How much $$$?

Thanks
