Monza V8 springs in a vega

Postby 1973vegasandiego » Tue Jan 01, 2008 7:07 pm

I have a 73 vega with stock lower arms, I'm doing the s10 spindle change and have bought Monza v8 a/c springs, I have seen some of the info on cutting the springs so it doesn't ride like a 4x4 but there are all sorts of answers on how many coils to cut. most everyone is using the deeper pocket late vega lower control arms and I am not, has anyone out there used this combo? I want to put as wide a tire on the front as I can but still have as normal a height as poss (I expect it will need to be slightly higher for the tire size 205 60) Thanks
Chuck

i have 76 monza v8 springs non ac and deep pocket arms on my 72 vega i had the motor mocked up in the car but not all the parts were in but it sat ok

cutting the springs will make it ride rougher try finding deep pocket arms

this picture is without the motor and i think the tire is a 195-60x14

Go with a set of V6 Monza front Springs it will give your Vega alot better ride then the V8's Monza springs will that's what I'm putting under the front of my 72 Vega Gt guys tell me that the V6 Monza springs are not as stiff as the V8 Monza springs are but you will still have to go with the deeper lower A-arms.
