Definitely box the lowers. I have adjustable uppers in mine, but I was installing polyurethane lowers this last week and was shocked at how flimsy the lowers are. You could almost twist them by hand! So I'll weld mine up next time I can drive it to my buddy's shop.
And x2 on welding all the body mounts. My upper isn't pulling away yet, but there are hairline cracks that I will weld up.
