has stock rear syspension 4 link?? have the poly bushing kit to install yet and was thinking either staying with the traction bars, or comp enginering slide link... have not jumped on it as of yet, but prior owner said it needed bars bad due to tons of wheel hop

As best as I can remember...... Aleck (stinkybutt) and Kelly have a "stock-type" rear suspension and she runs 11's with the front wheels up....... but it's a torque arm suspension in a 2nd gen

Search around, there are some plans to build traction bars somewhere.I ran Vega no hop bars on my 72.

Box your control arms when you change the bushings.

Anyone got pics of the no hop bars. They worked great, like a pinion snubber on a Mopar.

Some more advice,Weld the upper control arm mounts solid to the body. They are just spot welded in and like to start pulling away.I welded and bolted mine.

F body arms are alot longer than my Monza arms. I think they are 19"-20"
It also looks like the pic at top has traction bars on that Vega allready. Add 100 lbs of lead as far back in the hatch area as possible

Box the arms, uppers and lowers, replace the bushings, get a good set of 50/50 shocks. And install the f body air lift bags in the springs and that thing will dead hook in the rain, no matter what size tire your running. OK maybe not in the rain but I bet you will be suprised, I was.

Definitely box the lowers. I have adjustable uppers in mine, but I was installing polyurethane lowers this last week and was shocked at how flimsy the lowers are. You could almost twist them by hand! So I'll weld mine up next time I can drive it to my buddy's shop.

And x2 on welding all the body mounts. My upper isn't pulling away yet, but there are hairline cracks that I will weld up.

I have adjustable uppers in my car too that I made, but I ran the car for the longest with all the stock control arms.
