Brake booster part

Postby Astre-mutt » Thu Jan 17, 2008 2:35 am

I'm changing my brake system over power assist on my 76 Astre. I've purchase a new booster with master cylinder, and proportioning valve. This requires using the lower hole on the brake pedal. Which is a different size. Dos anybody know of a source, part #, or cross reference to other GM cars for this stud or bolt?

I don't remember the dimensions, but I made one out of a grade 8 bolt & nut. Had to do some minor lathe work to the bolt, & I also drilled a hole through the end of the bolt & nut so I could safety wire them together.

I don't know the P/N, but I should have a couple laying around on used boosters from parts cars. If I can find 1 $10.00 shipped to you in S.C.

Let me know if interested.

Thank you cammerjeff. That would be great! Just let me know if and when you find one. I would prefer to use the factory part if possible.

I don't think I have the part you are looking for, both of the spare Master cylinder/boosters I have use the small hole in the brake pedal. And so both of my spare pins are the small size. I even checked the "A" body parts I have, and they are also the same size.
So I don't know if they actually used the large hole or not. Sorry.
