Hello all new here and need some help with ball joints

Postby spyderwagon » Sun Feb 03, 2008 5:23 pm

Hello all. I am new to this site. I have read a few of these threads but I am not to savy with a computer. I am in the process of building a, well my screen name says it all I guess.
I am looking for the thread about what needs done to use s10 ball joints when I install these s10 drop spindals. I would rather use s10 ball joints instead of the adapters since my car needs ball joints anyways.

Thanks for any help in advance. Hope to talk to alot of other Monza people.

Also I am in the market for some parts. A manual steering box, a set of sbc headers to fit my monza. I realize I am in the wrong section for this part so I will list what I need and have to sell in the correct places.

Thanks again

Welcome Logan,
You'll find a lot of Monza enthusiasts here to help you with your unique ride.
Here's a few threads on using S-10 ball joints with S-10 spindles (there's probably a few more):

Matt.
Yes a spyder wagon. I have both a 1978 spyder and a 1980 wagon. I had them parked side by side 1 day and I thought that would be differant. Hey, why not, people build big block SS chevelle wagons, why not do it to a monza.
The only thing I am having trouble with is pulling my spyder apart, it is a running turn key car. I think I might sell my spyder and buy the parts I want need for the wagon. Unless it looks like it will be better to strip my spyder and use what I need and sell off rest.

Later

Keep the Spyder. Build the wagon as you have time/money.

Logan,
Matt is just telling you that because he wants to sell you one of his repro Spyder emblems. :)

I could sell 2 sets, one for the Spyder and one set for the Spyder wagon. Plus 2 horn buttons and 8 center caps. Actually I emailed ozpont about them. I guess he has other possibilities too and I'd like to see him make them since he did do alot of work so far. Darrin got me thinking about making louvers. Might do spoilers next. Ok, enough hi-jacking.

More hi-jacking. Louvers and spoilers will get a lot of attention here. You should focus on those.
My fee for this advice is a set of louvers and spoilers. :D
Now, git 'r done!

Tom, thanks for info, I didnt know I could buy repro emblems.

Matt, I dont need horn buttons. But I do need header panel and rear lock cover for my 1978. How much?
As for emblems going on wagon. It is getting a glass nose and I was gonna airbrush the emblems in place, more of a smoother look.

Thanks
Logan

It's an inside joke, Logan. We are trying to get the emblems reproduced now.

I won't be making emblems unless that deal goes south. I may do some custom Spyder center cap inserts and horn buttons, things like that.
