would it hurt anything to remove the x member for a min?

wanting to install a new deep oil pan but hard with x member in the car, would it hurt to place the car on jack stands and remove it just long enough to switch oil pans then put it back in?

No, it should not hurt it at all. Just mark where the cross member was using a grease pencil or something and make sure it goes back in the same place.

I wouldn't support the car under the control arms, I think that would invite some spreading.
