Steve,

Do you have NAPA stores in Australia? I have 2 front brake hoses left in the factory warehouse here. The part number is 36844 for 1979 and 1980 Hs.

If you can't order them, let me know.

Sorry, Steve, I checked my interchange catalog and that one is the only one in its group. Have you considered braided stainless hoses? I use stainless hoses from a racer supply shop. The hoses come in different lengths and use screw-on fittings. Made my own.

The interchange won't list a hose with the same ends but maybe an inch or 2 longer. That's what steve is looking for. I'm sure there's a hose with the same ends but maybe a different bracket that would work.
Chuck, do you work at NAPA?

I work for Affinia Under Vehicle Group, the parent company who supplies brake hydraulics and drums and rotors to NAPA and Raybestos. I have an old illustrated guide that shows the ends of brake hoses and all of the part numbers with those ends on them.

The problem is probably because in '79, GM went to a 10 mm banjo bolt instead of the 7/16", so the banjo hole size is smaller. If it were an earlier one, there would be more choices.

To me, it's just easier to go get some braided hoses and be done with it. I used them on my original Vega calipers, the S-10 calipers, and now the Corvette calipers. Just mix-and-match and bolt them on.

Would that be United Brakes?

Another option is to use a banjo to inverted flare adaptor.

I agree, they look better and perform too. But if you want the original look on a resto braided line won't do it, unless you can cover it with rubber before putting the ends on.

United Brakes is NAPA's premium line brand. The actual company I work for is Brake Parts Corporation.

went to my local GM usa parts supplier (there are not to many of them )
went through a bunch of brake hoses i FOUND a pair that will suit a 1979 monza
they are from a 93 to 97 f body slightly different (as in about 50mm (2 inches ) longer than the H body ones ,apart from that the fittings/thread IS the same
maybe someone should start up a sticky thread with a parts interchange !
