The panhard bar doesn't count as a "link". Is that what you mean Tom?
Lanse, are you saying the 6.5 is threaded and has no nuts? I'm just wondering for quick ID if the torque arm and bolts are gone.

yes I forgot Vega's didn't get the arm till 76, and as far I as I remember the 6.5 had 4 bolts in the mount and the 7.5 has 2 bolts that go all the way through with nuts, so I guess if theres threads in the bottom holes it would be a 6.5

If you look at my video in the following link, you can see that my front end lifts a fair amount, and the back squats as it should. You can kind of see it, quality isn't the best. But as the video says, it was my first time on the slicks, and it was my best run that night at the end. I could have heated the tires up a little more, and it's hard to hear, but my RPM's weren't that high.

But I'm confident that if I put a higher stall in, put drag shocks on, and do some top-end tweaking to the engine I should be in the 11's. Oddly enough, the area I thought I'd have trouble with isn't an issue. As you can see, I got the Trans Am off the line clearly both times. But he always catches me at the end, so my launch isn't my problem.

Good answer, Josh. Thanks Bro.

What about the wheel hop? How do you guys deal with that?

I have had zero wheelhop in the last year I've driven my car.

Must be an oddball I guess?!?

So are all 4 link Vega's Aste's 6.5 rears? Or is there 7.5 4 links?

Thanks

I think the later Vega's had both. Did yours come with the 7.5", Josh?

You put an s10 axle in right?

Must be an oddball I guess?!?

LOL! That's on a couple counts. First no camber problems now no wheel hop! GEEZ.

I believe my 75 was a 6.5". Now it's the S10 axle of course.

My 76 is a 3-link of course, I'd check but it's 40 miles away from me.

And I'm an oddball on a THIRD count. My car has ZERO RUST!!! NOWHERE!!!! Lol, ya'll hate me now!

Nah, your not an oddball. When my dad switched to urthane bushings in the rear of his Malibu the wheel hop went away.
