Well they finally arrived. Lower front a-arms from AJE Racing. I ordered them on April 24. They arrived July 17.
Ball joint is S-10. Overall they look good, a few chips in powder coating from shipping and some weld splater that got coated over, but I'm satisfied. Happy to finally have them. Now its just getting the time to install...may be awhile. Hopefully in time to make some passes down the 1/4 once weather gets a bit cooler. My Torino is stuck in the garage waiting on trans rebuild and clutch. That needs to be done first. Here is a pic of arms.

If you don't mind me asking, how much were they shipped to you? Can you take a pic of the bottom side? Did they give you a reason for taking so long?

I have to look up exact cost shipped to my door, but it was around $450. I'll get exact price once I'm home later today and take a picture of underside of arms.

Don't know why it took as long as it did. I didn't ask. It took as long for the upper arms I got from AJE. These are made to order and are not off shelf item, so maybe that has something to do with it.

waybad, you'd have to call AJE to see if they can make a narrow set. The number is on their website.

So, you don't want to turn left or right? I have near rub at full lock on 195/60/15's now. You want less clearance? I'm being serious. What do you plan to run for a tire size, backspacing, etc.?

A inch narrower sounds like a lot. This would narrow your front track width by 2". Unless you are running some very deep offset wheels ou may be inducing other problems. I assume you would plan to narow the top arms as well?

I plan to run either 4-5 in wide 24 -25 tall fronts,,on 5s it will be 3 1/2 BS.. I like the look,of at least the front and the rear tire track width to be the same, If you look at the tire track width now the fronts look like they track about a 1/2-1" wider than the rears??? if I can get them at least the same I can lower the car about a inch? I don't like the fronts out further than the backs.. Just one of my pet peevs.. :bang: :bang: :bang: :bang: :cuss: :cuss: :cuss:
Thanks for the prices,, too much for my blood :cuss: :cuss:

Bigger tires on the back would be a lot easier.

I am giong with 15/8 in the rear with 235's.. I want to lower the car a little so I have to bring the rears in a
little?? I just lke the way the strut front end cars look with the fonts tucked in more than stock..
It also looks like the s10 spindle swap moves the front wheels out more than I like!! thanks
for all the reply's, didn't meant to high jack this thread,, sorry TC

Hey John P, Have you managed to get these installed yet? I spoke with Jim at AJE and I will buy both lowers and adjustable uppers provided your experience with the fit, and alignment potential are favorable. I am looking to induce positive caster and correct the camber on my S 10 swap. Any feedback is most appreciated//Thanks

No, have not managed to get to install. I won't be able to get to it for awhile, but hopfully soon. I'll have to cut out my lower a-arm bolts so, its something I do not want to attempt with the car on jack stands. My garage and Kwiklift are tied up with my other car. Sorry I can't give any more input for the total install.

The uppers are on and as AJE makes them to correct the negative camber with just uppers and adjusting with lower cam bolts, I was hoping to just get away with uppers and then just adjust alignment, but with bolts frozen on and having to go thur trouble of cutting out the bushings and bolts, I decided to go for lowers as well.

Here is old thread about my upper install
viewtopic.php?f=10&t=23119

There was someone that did this with just AJE upper arms and got good alignment, I don't remember his name, but I believe he initiated AJE making the arms for the Vega. Maybe do a search for AJE.

Well, I finally got the cam bolts out on the one side I 've been working on. :bang:

I've got the lower a-arm test fitted it.

When I cut out the old cam bolts, there were large flat washers on the outside of the old bushings. It had some aligment marks on it in a star pattern.
I could not get the new arms to fit in with them. The metal bushing on the tubular arms is just a little taller then the slot the cam bolt goes thru in the car. I'm wondering if I"ll be ok like that or should I try to get some washer between the slot and the new bushing. I tightened the new bolt pretty good and the metsal pulled tightly to the new bushing, I'm thinking I might be able to spread the area just enough to squezzing in some washer. What do you think guys? thanks!

I'm guessing, but by the looks of those bushings, they do not need the washer, other than maybe a flat washer. Its all in how the bushing is designed. Our bushings are designed to be used with that silly washer.

Very cool! I wonder... is there any way they can build them to accept a coilover?
