Yes. The h body,s-10,g body all have the arm in a position that no matter what width rack you use, a bump steer kit is going to be required to lower the mounting pivot on the arm. The exception would be if you have the room to mount the rack so the pivots are higher than the lower control arm bolt. With most engine combos, that just isn't the case though. Basically, in order to make final adjustments on the car, You will need to have the rack height adjustable with shims, or the outer linkage pivot adjustable with a stud that allows you to use a spherical rod end and jam nuts. For a power rack, I say scour ebay weekly and look for one from appleton, sweet, or woodward. 18.25 is a common width and many ratios are available. Just have to put your time in looking for the right combo. The shorter 16.25 racks usually will not have enough travel to them because the body is too short to support the shaft. Should be able to pick one up for under 200. As for OEM stuff, I never bothered to look into them so I can't say what will work. I wanted the adjustability of the aftermarket to adjust the amount of assist and feel.
Any one can restore a car but, it takes a real man to cut one up.
