I'm planning on using the complete 99 & newer S-10 4 wheel disc setup
.

Sounds like a plan Stan :th:

I'll chime in. I decided to fabricate a solution because I wanted small, solid rear discs and lighter calipers for better driving characteristics on the track. I used Malibu Maxx rotors and calipers and fabricated mounts using the drum dust shield/mount. We'll see if it brakes. Not an easy solution and some of you would want to do it differently but it was relatively cheap. I've got about $200 into it so far. Including some custom machine work I had done to the axle flanges. Here's a pic of the finished setup less brake lines:

Hey, Jon!

Sorry that I could not remember who did this project.
Gettin' old ya know, us early boomers. LOL!
I always liked the job you did with the rear disc setup.
You need to get that posted in one of the other sections on this site permanently.
You should develope and market a kit.
Thanks for jumping in and posting.

Also, thanks to 283vega.

OK guys this much I know so far s-10 2wd axles do fit in a s-10 4wd disc rotor with out machining, I also know you can use the 4wd discs in (on) an 2wd s-10 with the use of a spacer from some guys on ebay for $29.99 but will a s-10 backing plate bolt on a vega housing maybe some one could answer for others. If the backing plate from an s-10 rear will bolt on a vega then you could use the caliper bracket from an s-10 4wd rear disc app. on a vega housing with the .25 inch spacer no machining necessary. I will have more hands on experience later as tomorrow I will bring home a 2 wd s-10 extreme disc rear from a 2001 extreme blazer and find out for myself I am going to use the factory master cylinder from the same extreme which does not have a proportioning block on it from the factory however I won't be using the front 2 piston calipers because i don't think I can afford another 2 " drop in my already low vega not to mention I have 14" wheels already and don't think those big brakes will fit in it
i currently drive a geo metro, insert silly joke here,, but i'll pass you while your getting gas

if you are getting the whole blazer 2wd rear end why dont you just weld your brackets on it and call it a day? be much easier than trying to adapt everything!

I don't agree if it all unbolts and bolts back up in a different place it's not adapting it's using, and it is easier to unbolt than it is to grind off and weld on and I have a torque arm and the blazer or s-10 does not so they don't have the holes for one and a camaro rear is too wide and would need narrowing I like to use my head before i use my wallet, and all that fab work mentioned cost money and(or) time. why not use what is available to our advantage you might have to look but it's out there the extreme rear cost me 79 bucks with a posi don't care about the gear I already have 3.73 in the housing I'm using and backlash is easier to set than pinion depth

you are right, if it WILL all bolt in it would be easier. i always think four link as thats what is in my car. your torque link presents its own fab problems as you said. ill have to weld brackets as i have a chrysler rear now and am going to the s10. where my curiosity lies is if the 95 s10 2wd can be upgraded bolt on wise from drum to the disk set up you are going with or if the 4x4 disc brake setup will bolt on to the afforementioned 95 s10 2wd axle housing. thinking with your head not your wallet is a good thing we are bolth trying to do that ! good luck on your build ill be watching with interest! i have the s10 drum axle coming for free so thats even better lol!

Watch the measurement of the flange to end of axle housing. I have a 4X4 Jimmy with disc brakes and wanted to change to a lower numerical ratio. Bought an earlier 4X4 shoe brake rear end, switched all the disc brake parts over and then realized the flanges of the shoe brake were 3/4 of an inch closer to the end of the housing, parts went on but the rotor ended up 3/4 of an inch too far out for the calipers.

I missed your mention of the spacers earlier. I could have used those!

I don't think so if it is a 2 wd bravada using 2wd rotors but the 4wd rotors are different than the 2wd ones, if it was a 4wd bravada the axles won't work they are too long but the 2wd axles fit in the 4wd rotors but thats where you need the spacers ,I just got home with the extreme axle might try everything out later today but for now I'm tired. I forgot to ad I looked at 4 different disc/disc blazers 1 2wd and 3 4wd and non of them had a proportioning valve / distobution block

actually its an all wheel drive, but I measured the axle from outer rotors and it was 54"
The rear had been removed and was sitting in back of car, its an 8.5
