awd/4wd should be 59" long

the 2wd is 54.5"

if you use the whole rear end in yours then no spacers , if you use the brakes on your existing rear end , then yes you will need spacers

Possibly the reason you haven’t seen or herd more on rear disc brakes is because the disc/drum set up is pretty good on the H-body including the early set up.

Wait until you try several high speed stops or prolonged stopping at higher speeds - or with a high horsepower engine that accelarates exremelly quickly. The brakes fade fast and get scarey! But for every day normal driving, yeah, they are fine. Besides, the point is to have an all-around high performance car and that is more than just the engine/trans/rearend/exhaust. It should include tires, steering, suspesion, brakes, etc.

OK now I have first hand knowledge, The disc brake parts bolted right up , but do I need to change the seal when going to 28 spline axles ,, having trouble with the c clip don't want to force it cause this is a spare axle with the parts I am going to use. I wanted to add you don't need to find an "extreme" either just find a disc s-10 rear axle for the calipers and brackets just don't use the 4wd rotors every thing else is the same go to autozone and buy rotors for a 2001 2wd blazer they cost 43.00 each no core charge when you locate a disc rear take everything from the housing out except the rotor everything except the housing bracket is still available new and it may be too I just didn't look for it. If you don't use the 4wd rotor you don't need the spacers, you can even grab the hard line, I am going to weld the brackets on mine for the hard to rubber connection if your on your back in a bone yard you should be able to get those off with a roto broach (best tool I have ever bought) and a cordless drill just a thought.

cosworth you probably know but ill mention it anyway, you do not need a prop valve with disc disc but you do need to change the master to disc disc for more fluid capacity to the rears ive read elsewhere in another thread, probably nics. i could be wrong just trying to remember things ive seen here on h body.

I put it in my last update, I looked at 4 disc disc blazers none had the proportioning vale and I snagged the MC off the extreme

i know the hole in the firewall will have to be enlarged to fit the s10 master, at least for the drum master, dont know if the disc disc is any smaller or not.

well it appears I am going to have to change the seal so when I have the part number for the correct seal i will ad it one seal is 1.3 and the other is 1.5 diameter of the hole I'll get it

that looks like the thickness of the spacers , that are on ebay for the disk swap for the s10's when using the drum brake axles

think they are 30.00 a pair

please don't get that confused the spacer pushes the caliper out 1/4th inch the disc is in the right spot as are the calipers the axle needs to come out the 1/4" difference not the caliper right now the front of the axle flange is 1/4th inch deeper than the back of the rotor where they are supposed to meet I don't want to confuse everyone since I have already spent the money let me get it sorted I will post a shopping list when I am done. if I purchase those spacers my axle will be 1/2inch too short
