I have then on my '74 hatchback. '67 Camaro mono leafs to be exact. I've got over 1000 runs on them in the 10.50 range and a bunch of nitrous passes as quick as 9.73 Typically on motor my 60ft. numbers are in the area of 1.48 and with a 75 shot the thing wakes up and goes 1.35 My car is unique in that the harder you hit it the better it hooks. I run a 29-12x15 Hoosier slick. Anything over 100 shot and the car goes airborne. Will try and get pics tomorrow. I don't know of any other leaf spring Vega in the country.

jim there will be alot more leaf spring vegas after all the guys see those shots.. looks like a real kamikaze ride. is that shot from the show at beaver springs. i didnt go because i couldnt have run my nova with you guys and ther was no other classes for me to run in that day (so the track people said.) how was the show.? i didnt see any postings about it on our forum. looks like you really got yourcar going nice. i will catch up with you next season for sure art

theres another car on this forum as well, its also a blue vega. I had a pro street one years back, its not like its a new discovery or anything, its basicly the cheap way out to tubbing the rear of the car so you dont have to buy ladderbars and coil overs. it can be made to work well just like the pics show or most any early camaro at the strip.

don its not cheap to do that spring conversion. i think jim used the calvert 2 piece mono leaf springs and the calvert traction bars(probably 600 - 700 dollars for both pieces.. every nhra stocker i see at the tracks that run fast uses this setup and they get great 60 foot times. i myself am switching to the calvert setupin my 67 nova. i have stock monoleafs and moroso slapper bars(altered by me) and the car ran 10.94 with a 1.47 60 ft time. a sbc in carthat weighs 3300 lbs with me in it., BUT if i had not bought these new springs and bars already a few years ago, i would definitely switch to coilovers and ladder bars. i would save a bit of weight and have alot more adjustability.it is probably alot more work to put the leafs in the vegas as opposed to putting in the coilovers. i dont know what inspired jim to put the leafs in, but it is neat looking. i saw the car about 5-6 years ago at the vega show in NJ and it ran good then with that setup. art

I know this is a old post but do you have pics if where you mounted the leaf springs on the chassis and where the shocks go

My vega is also leaf spring run 9.30 1/4 mile on motor no power adder
