This question is regarding the 2 inch relocation of the rear UCA bracket hole.

Where in the rear suspenion travel, do you base the newly located UCA bracket hole?
Stock Ride hight?
on the bump stops?
half way inbetween

Any info would be apreciated.

The new hole would be 2" above the stock mounting hole on the upper control arm mount on the rearend itself.

Perhaps a picture will help explane.
I set this up at near ride hight and now the bump stops colide with the UCA flange at the body, I can change the bumpstop lacation but feel this is just guessing.
The car craft artical on this that is posted in another post is unreadable to me.

I'm not sure I know what you mean, I don't see the bump stop in the pic. I don't even have the bump stops on my car any more.

Maybe I just need to relocate the bumpstops or eleminate them.

What I am trying to say in the pic is that if the new hole location is a bit forward or back, there will changes in how the axel moves in its travel, a bit foward and maybe things will clearance better.

By moving that hole forward or back, you change pinion angle. That is more important than the bump stops. Once you have that right, then put the bump stops where they will work or get rid of them all together. Here is the only pic I have right now of my rear setup.

Here, try this.

I made my risers out of 2"x2" square tubing:



And made my own upper control arms out of tubing and rod ends:



That way I can adjust pinion angle.

if you have a 9" ford, the arms are already higher than stock due to shape of housing.

cosvega76, your custom UCAs are stright not curved, guess the curve is not nessesary?

Looks like I will be moving my bump stops today.

You only need the curved arm for the stock axle mounting location, as a straight arm would contact the axle tube when the suspension is in compression. Once you raise the rear attachment point, there is no more interference.

As Dick mentioned, I have Addco bars on the car and that is their mounting system.
