What is the lug nut torque spec for a '73 Vega? I have done a search here and looked in the manual- I must be missing it somewhere...

Thanks, Larry

Right or wrong, I've been torquing mine to 60 ft. lbs.
On a totally unrelated point, my Sierra's nuts are torqued to 140 ft. lbs. All 24 of them.

Thanks Ken.

Just wondering where I am missing this in the manual. Also checked the Fisher body supplement.

The specs can be hard to find. I have a manual for Chevelle/Nova at my desk here. I found the specs under Wheels and Tires, Rotation. The manual calls for torque of 60 to 80 ft. lbs. Sounds like some engineer was trying to cover his ass with specs like those.

Ken,
I just reviewed the wheel and tire section of the '73 Vega Shop Manual. It says that if the lug nut is loose, tighten it. No CYA, just leave it out :D
