1971 rear brake parts

Postby eddie » Thu Feb 05, 2015 3:25 pm

I was in the process of changing my rear brake shoes when I broke that stupid self adjusting spring on one side. where can I find one? or can I switch to the regular style system. I do not even know what that part is actually called. Thanks in advance.

The early brakes (71-75) don't really have a self adjusting feature. I believe they manually adjust when you apply the parking brake. Are you referring to the stut assembly that runs between the two shoes? I believe that is the adjusting mechanism.

scroll down to bottom of list. he has the struts for sale with the shoes. Ask him if he will separate the parts if you do not want everything
