tires

Postby 1972vegaz28 » Tue May 19, 2015 9:56 am

Hey all, Im trying to get my car legal , and I need some rear tires to pass inspection. My tires are 205 60 13s. They seem to hit the wheel lip, I guess over bumps, and I'd like to change that, while getting the car legal. It's still four lug, and I wondering if anybody made 14 or 15 inch four lug wheels that would fit ? Thanks

centerline wheels makes wheels in the autodrag series and can be had in 4 lug 15 inch sizes. Cragar made the sst in 4 lug 14 inch sizes back in the day, not sure if they can be bought new yet still.

Okay, I'll have to look around. The centerlines sound cool, plus it would solve my tire situation. I have 13 inch cragar ss wheels on there now. I wonder where I can find these lol I'll look around, thanks.

for what its worth, i also had 205/60R13's on my car but cannot find anyone who makes RWL (raised white lettering) in that size, much less can any wide 13 inch tires as the manufacturers have moved on from that size and do not seem to support 13's anymore. i looked for those tires for 3 years and other than TOYO Proxes tires (which are actually made for track racing), there is no selection of wide 13's. there are still 195/75R13's available.

that having been said, these 205/60R13's popped up on EBay one day, brand new so i ordered them and though i havent installed them onto rims yet they seem ok.

You must have some really offset wheels if 205's are rubbing on the lip. The lip can be trimmed slightly if needed. It's double overlapped and spot welded so it's pretty sturdy. Grinding a small amount off won't hurt. Some guys "roll" the inner lip too.
