Yes, it has been done by many people here. You will also need the correct plastic mounting hardware for the vented rotor, they look very similar to the hardware for the solid disc but the spacing is different. There may be some very minor clearancing between the rotor and spindle but it should not be any big deal. You may have to slightly modify the backing plate for clearance but again, nothing major. It is certainly worth the effort to get the vented rotors on there. Some people also change the master cylinder but I am still using the original style on my 75 Monza which originally had the solid discs like yours. If you need any help accessing parts feel free to contact me. cjbiagi@yahoo.com

As Clyde said, make sure you also get the plastic spaces for the vented rotors, as they are different then the ones for the solid rotors.
I have vented rotors and calipers on my 75 Cosworth mounted on the solid rotor spindle with no issues and I am using the stock master cylinder for the solid rotors with this set-up as well.

Good luck with the conversion..

Cheers,
Tim

The spacers are the hardware that holds the caliper to the spindle. There is also a pin that slides through the spacer and caliper that holds it all on. If you need any parts feel free to contact me. cjbiagi@yahoo.com

The grooves are for the pin that slides through the plastic spacer and holds the caliper in place.

Pictures of what you have would help with your question.

Mount the rotor only, rotate it to check for interference. You may have to file some areas on the spindle for clearance. I don't remember if you have to remove the metal shield but you will know when the rotor is in place.

Contreras67 I have a set of '76 and a set of '75 spindles that are about to go to the scrap yard. Planning on next week (early, Tues. or Wed.) as brake parts have become almost extinct I can't see much of a market for them. If you want them we can make a deal for the '76 [thicker/vented) spindles. Of course I am in Canada, so that just about triples shipping if you live in the US. Let me know if you have any interest and I can send you some pic's or whatever you may be interested in. Although most have posted that grinding off the embossed lettering is all that they have had to do to the pre'76 spindles. Harry
