banjo bolt Q

Postby 71GTKammback » Sat Jan 23, 2016 9:07 pm

Doing an S10 conversion on the 76 Monza. Question. The monza brake hose is too short. I had heard the 76 nova hose worked. It has a slightly larger hole for the banjo bolt to go in than the S10 banjo bolt. The monza banjo bolt fits nicely. But, monza is a 7/16 standard and the S10 is an 11 metric. My question is... is the thread pattern the same or different between standard and metric on the banjo bolts?

I believe the thread pitch is different between standard and metric threads. The seal for the banjo bolt comes from the copper washers on each side. The thread has to match the caliper, use one that matches the caliper thread and you will know right away if it will leak when you pump the brake.
