Postby chevyart » Thu Aug 10, 2017 7:00 pm

ive seen it posted before but i cant find it. could someone explain which end of the front coil goes up and which end down. i know the ends are cut differently. also, there is a way to align the bottom of the front spring at a site hole. could you pleasew explain that part of the process. also, is there any technique to installing the rear coil springs. thank you art

The flat side of the spring goes into the lower control arm. if you look up into the spring pocket you will see where the indexed part of the top of the spring sits into.
The spring should stand up on the ground to indicate the bottom of the spring and also the last coil on the bottom should be flattened about the last few inches but may not always be the case.

When I did mine I tried it both ways and flat side down is the only way I got it to work.

yes I do, you can see when you put the spring into the upper pocket it needs to be aligned proplerly (I guess this is call indexing) , then the bottom spring flat side will sit properly into the pocket,

when I tried flat side up it fit cockeyed into the pocket..
